Kiji: Sailor Shikiori Japanese Fountain Pen Ink Sample

Since 1911, Sailor has carried Japan's traditional craftsmanship into writing, and its Shikiori series captures the country's seasons in ink. The Noyama-no-Uta collection is inspired by the 72 micro-seasons of the traditional Japanese calendar, with each colour inspired by a bird that marks its season. Each is a water-based dye ink, made to bring a little of Japan's natural world to every page.

Kiji is named after the pheasant, whose sharp, ringing call cuts through the cold air of the winter season. It's a colour to bring the stillness of a Japanese winter to your letters, journals and notes.
