Haru-tsuge-dori: Sailor Shikiori Japanese Fountain Pen Ink
Part of the Noyama-no-Uta collection
Since 1911, Sailor has carried Japan's traditional craftsmanship into writing, and its Shikiori series captures the country's seasons in ink. The Noyama-no-Uta collection is inspired by the 72 micro-seasons of the traditional Japanese calendar, with each colour inspired by a bird that marks its season. Each is a water-based dye ink, made to bring a little of Japan's natural world to every page.
Haru-tsuge-dori means "the bird that announces spring", after the young warbler whose newly learned song signals the end of winter. Depending on the paper, it can lean towards a soft yellow-green, so each page shows a slightly different side of the colour.
