This modern Maki-e lacquer-work edition of the mighty Platinum Preppy WA series features 6 traditional and elegant designs that draw inspiration from Japanese patterns.
This time around, the designs have been incorporated into the body of the fountain pen using a silk printing method.
Unlike traditional maki-e, this is a technique in which coloured powders such as gold and silver are sprinkled one by one by hand on a silk-printed base pattern instead of lacquer. It is thicker than normal printing, and the reflection and shading of the powder gives it a three-dimensional texture.
Comes with 1 included cartridge ink, see Specifications tab for additional compatible refills.
