1.For heavily saturated inks and darker tones, or clogged nibs, you may need to soak the grip/feeder in water overnight
2. Store pen vertically nib-up when not in use to avoid clogging
3. The threads of the cap are brass and runs the risk damaging the lacquer if you post the cap
