Pennonia Kékfestő was inspired by traditional Hungarian clothing decorations. The name refers to that specific color and the accompanied embroidery style used to decorate the clothes. In English it is known as "blue printing" or "bluedyeing". While this style is not unique to Hungary , it nonetheless is considered a traditional folk technique/style.
